Salinerito has earned its recognition locally and abroad due to their commitment to attain quality, sustainability, and support to local communities.
Produce originating in several distinctive climatic altitudes ranging from the Andean highlands down to the subtropic are exported and also consumed nationwide. This diverse climatic range enables the production of likewise diverse and high-quality food products, handcrafts, and cosmetics.
DAIRY PRODUCTION
One of the most emblematic products is the ‘Queso Andino’, a particular variety of artisan cheese of the Ecuadorian Andean highlands. At present, and along with other dairy products—Montañez, Mozzarella, Fresco, Tilsit cheese that are part of different kinds produced—yogurt, milk, and butter are processed in one of the most productive facilities in Salinas, with the participation of several Andean and Subtropical communities.
CHOCOLATE
& SWEETS
Cocoa-based products such as chocolate bars; dragees of almonds, raisins, uvilla and coffee; chocolates and nougats.
Cocoa Paste. All are products are using 100% Ecuadorian cocoa.
TISANES
Herbs ‘superfoods’ enhance natural, organic consumption that promote welfare. Naturally processed to maintain properties and aromas for end-consumers to enjoy.
WOOL
& GARMENT
Using the region’s raw materials of alpaca, sheep and llama wool, peasant women who live at 4,200masl weave and manufacture wonderful woolen accessories. Wool Is sold in yarns as raw material
ESSENTIAL OILS & OINTMENTS
Best aromatic plants are selected to obtain 100% pure oil concentrates having no chemical additives. Natural ointments combines essential oils and beeswax. This “superfoods” are natural medicines.
NOUGATS
Macadamia nuts and peanuts are the star ingredients, combined with natural honey. The mixture of these ingredients yields a crunchy consistency and bestows delicious flavor to nougats.
DEHYDRATED
PRODUCTS
A very tidy and meticulous natural processing is applied to dehydrated products rendering healthy ‘superfoods’ snacks, infusions, teas and ingredients that add nutritional value and natural flavor to meals.
HANDCRAFTS
Straw and cabuya (hemp) are manually woven by women in the communities into baskets of several sizes and colors, pot holders, base protectors, placemats, coasters, handbags, among other articles
COOKIES
A line of cookies has been developed, to which delicious ‘superfoods’ and innovative products are added. Hence, the assortment of cookies includes natural ingredients having peculiar flavors: carrots, soybean, cocoa, wholemeal.
MARMALADES
Salinerito produces jams of traditional flavors such as blackberry, pineapple as well as other delicious, exotic local flavors: mortiño (Andean blueberry) and chamburo (a local sort of mountain pawpaw)
